Landed in paradise

I have to admit, up until today I haven’t taken any pictures. I sprinted off the plane, through customs and immigration, right into my boyfriend’s arms and just felt pure happiness. We got in the car (I walked to the driver’s side of course) and I let it all soak in. The different country, different culture, different life. No matter how many books I read, pictures I saw or how many times other people tried to describe it there’s nothing like being here. I can’t really explain to you what it’s like. There’s something magical about this place and on the first day I knew I could easily call it home.

Its been such a whirlwind since I got here, the best kind. The thing that has taken some getting used to is the time difference (it’s 18 hours ahead, dinner time here and the middle of the night in the states). That and I have yet to attempt driving. So after our fun weekend at the Auckland Nines i’ll give it a go and probably give Sam a heart attack or two at the roundabouts. But it’s all part of the experience… The steak and cheese pies, Touch games, driving on the other side of the road, being able to walk barefoot everywhere (amazing I know). I have already met so many wonderful people, seen wonderful places and feel incredibly lucky. Not many people get this opportunity, or take it for that matter. But if you just kind of let life takes you where its supposed to you might end up better off than you originally thought.
